a blogger and a new (last!) block in 6th semester

today, on the way to my campus today for a cancelled class *huhh*, i saw a banner about some book fair going on. there's also going to be a movie review and music carnival as well from 2nd - 5th of May '11. another feature that excites me is there's going to be a seminar from my favourite blogger-turned-author/comedian, Raditya Dika, on 4th of May. he's an Indonesian who writes about his day-to-day mis-adventures and quirky incidences. i haven't being following him for a long time, but I've read most of his books. really loved the way he writes, very descriptive and alive. i could replay all the scenes in my head vividly, as i read his books, chapter by chapter. so yeah, i'm excited to see him, if i'm given the chance.

next week there's one final exam, and also the start of a new block on public health. yukk. i don't like the subject. very boring and its about ethics. i'm an ethical person, mind you, but these are things that we've already learned throughout life. and another thing that made me wince was that during the first lecture, the doctor told us to make a choice: between doing masters degree on what you love, or, something that ensures you of having a lot of patients. i know she's only thinking about our future, but i don't want to make money for things that i'm not passionate about. that's against my principles. you don't want to end up being old and unhappy with what you're doing every day. and god forbids, feeling regretful. and hey, i thought we were learning about ethics. is it ethical to be money-minded instead of being true to yourself? think think.
